Accessibility

We want this website to be open to as many people as possible — whether they use a mouse, the keyboard alone, a screen reader, or a heavily magnified display.

We publish these notes voluntarily. As an individual running a purely informational portfolio site with no shop or booking function, we do not, in our assessment, fall under the requirements of the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG). We nevertheless consider accessibility a matter of course.

What we have implemented

Motion and animation. This website uses pronounced scroll animations and a three-dimensional display. If your operating system is set to reduce motion, the website detects this and switches to a calm presentation: smooth scrolling is disabled, animations do not run, and content appears immediately.

Display without 3D graphics. If your device or browser cannot display 3D content, an equivalent version without 3D is served automatically. No information is lost in the process.

Keyboard operation. All controls can be reached with the Tab key, and the currently focused element is visibly highlighted. At the top of the page there is a "Skip to content" link that lets you bypass the navigation.

Structure and readability. Pages are organised with headings and landmark regions so that screen readers can present them meaningfully. Purely decorative graphics are marked so they are skipped. The language of each page is declared in machine-readable form so that screen readers choose the correct pronunciation.

Colour contrast. We have checked and adjusted text colours for sufficient contrast against the background. Colour is never the only means of conveying information.

No time pressure. The contact form has no time limit, and entries are not discarded while you are still writing. The confirmation shown after sending fades out on its own — as long as you hover or focus it, it stays.

Languages. All content is available in German, English and Spanish.

Where it still falls short

We think it is only fair to name the weaknesses too:

  • The home page is deliberately designed as a visually elaborate presentation. Even in the reduced-motion version it remains more demanding than a plain text page. The legal notice, the privacy policy and these notes are separate, plain pages linked in the footer; the filmography and the contact section are reached through the navigation at the top of the page.
  • The filmography is a dense, list-like compilation. It can be read aloud, but it is lengthy when it is.
  • There has been no assessment by an independent body. These notes are based on our own evaluation. We therefore deliberately do not claim full conformance with any particular standard.

Have you encountered a barrier?

Then please tell us — it is the fastest way to make this website better. Briefly describe which page is affected and what did not work.
